    OPGW is a kind of composite cable structure of optical transmission and aerial ground cable for power transmission. It works on power transmission line as fiber optic cable and aerial ground cable which can provide lightning protection and short circuit coin conduction. The OPGW consists of an optical unit of stainless steel tube, aluminum clad steel wire, aluminum alloy wire. It has a central stainless steel tube structure and layer braiding structure. We can design the structure according to different environmental conditions and customers' requirements.

    Characteristics

    1. Up to 144 fibers
    2. The diameter and weight of the wire are approximated with another ground wire. Less additional load to the tower, high tensile strength.
    3. Excellent stainless steel tube braiding technology makes the fibers have good secondary excess length and allows the fibers
    free movement in the tube. Which keeps the fiber tension-free while the cable is subject to longitudinal tension.
    4. The optical fibers are protected by stainless steel tubes.
    5. Excellent security, good bullet resistance performance.
    6. ACSW, AAW and SST stranded design provides a wide range combination of electrical conductivity and mechanical tensile strength

    Applications

    Optical fiber composite ground wire [OPGW] is suitable for installation on new power lines with double function of ground wire and communication. Especially for installation on normal voitage and extra high voltage power lines.

     OPGW can replace conventional ground wire of old power line with increasing fiber communication function. They conduct short circuit current and provide lightning resistance.
